Objective

The IPDR.org Protocols Working group will fullfill documented business requirements by defining the syntax, encoding, and transport conveying usage information between service elements and support systems.

  • The working group plan from the April 15-16 2000 meeting at Daleen in Boca Raton.
  • Notes from earlier group meetings are still to be recovered. The major output of this group prior to April 2000 was the development of the IPDR document specification, Chapter 4 of the NDM-U 1.1 document .

Contributions

Contributions from this group ultimately are incorportated into the official NDM-U specifications published by IPDR.org. In particular Chapter 4 in NDM-U 3.0 captures the latest agreed upon work from this group.

Current Contributions in the area of A-interface:

  • Submittal of Streaming IPDR to IPFIX ( html )
  • Discussion of A/B-interface activities ( ppt )
  • Proposal for streaming B-interface protocol ( txt )

Reference Library

The protocol working group guided the development of a reference library addressing both XML and Compact IPDR encoding and decoding, as well as the File Transfer Protocol. This work is harmonized with the NDM-U 3.1 specification.
