Service Specifications
NDM-U is a major advance over all past billing record formats,
because it is multi-service. Every past approach such as the CDR
was specific to a single industry, and always lacked the provision
for flexibility. In contrast, NDM-U supports an infinite number
of possible services. Today, almost a dozen services are supported.
The technology to define a billing record specific to an emerging
class of service is to define a "Service Specification."
